Alissa Fugazzi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s Degree at the University of North Dakota in Social Work in 2006. Before starting Resilient U, Alissa worked for both a state and a private agency. Alissa has practiced Social Work since 2002.
Alissa provides individual therapy to children and adults as well as family therapy and couples counseling. Her treatment areas include mental health assessment and treatment planning for anxiety, depression, adjustments, trauma, self-harm behaviors, anger management and attachment issues (to include foster care and adoption).
Evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences.
Provides clients with new skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. Focuses on providing therapeutic skills in four key areas.
1) Mindfulness.
2) Distress tolerance.
3) Emotion regulation.
4) Interpersonal effectiveness.
Manually-guided and empirically-supported group treatment designed to improve the emotional, social, academic, and behavioral functioning of adolescents exposed to chronic interpersonal trauma and/or separate types of trauma.
Evidence-based treatment designed to improve the relationships between children and caregivers in families involved in arguments, frequent conflict, physical force/discipline, or child physical abuse.
Intervention model for children aged 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems, including posttraumatic stress disorder.
Alissa has some training in Play Therapy and uses it as a tool to help engage children, which allows them to explore their lives and freely express repressed thoughts and emotions.

Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
